In the fast lane

Hi guys..well it has been life in the fast lane here for sure…with so many things happening either with animals, jobs ,health or family it has been foot to the metal and top speed !

Firstly thank you for your patience as i appear and vanish so often..so much to do and so little time..a problem we all have and not one that i alone suffer from i am sure.

Months back i organised for Hubby to do some Hot Laps at Calder Park Speedway as a Father’s Day gift..and last Sunday was the day.

Calder Park is on the outskirts of Melbourne..not far from Tullamarine (or as they now call it Melbourne) Airport..the half way point for us always for a coffee at the Mc Donalds as we either head to Melbourne or the airport.

So we had to be there at 8am and after a hellish computer issue kept us up late Friday night it was a tired us that got up at 6.15am…urghh

We got to Mount Macedon (near Hanging Rock) and it was dark and misty then raining..awesome..

By the time we arrived at Calder Park after grabbing a Mc coffee and having a Mc wee the weather had cleared.

Briefings were held papers signed peeps got their racing gear on, and folks were assigned their drivers. So the peeps doing the laps went first in an everyday car to go and check out the tracks,turns and other info .

The people doing the drive had their laps with the pro in the passenger seat..after their laps then the pros took THEM for the Hot Laps..to show them how a racing driver does it 🙂

These cars get up to 220kph..which is  about 136 miles per hour.

Now i thought keeping up with roos was a challenge..let me tell you this was a real struggle hahaha..between being deafened by having my head over the concrete barricades to get close ups and running up to the top of the grandstand to get long distance shots i was working harder than an elite athlete…which i am not..i love fast cars always have the only real sport i actually enjoy..and so not only did i have great fun watching but i had fun challenging myself with the camera..and i can tell you my arms were super sore from lifting that damn lens..

When it was over we met up with some of the kids and their other halves at Hanging Rock for a Picnic..was all in all a great day..and i hope you enjoy the fast lane with me today..forgive my less than pro car racing shots!

I am super  busy with preparations for getting my cards out there..spending a good part of morning until 2am working through various things.

Funny as i will have to order more as all the sets i ordered i am giving away..so will be great to hear what people think.

This week will be a bit crazy..i will be on here with my winners on Wednesday and apart from that i do not know..

We are all healthy , pets included but some things are happening that require me to spend less time online for a little while.

I even have to step away from my photography this week i think too..

Changes can come when we least expect them and the timing for some things could not be worse..but this is life and as always we regroup and get on with it.

So please remember to enter the draw and do not worry …i will be popping in as often as i can..it is just a week that needs me to be present..

And i think my little friend here pretty much sums up how i feel 🙂

Autumn finally brings some rain

Hi guys..Autumn has finally given us some rain..not a lot but it’s better than none….and the temps have dropped so the fire is blazing and the pups and kitties are taking full advantage of any warm spot!

Today we filled two more garden beds..one to go and i think another to be built and then filled..so hubby was back and forth getting trailer loads of mushroom compost.

I have seeds that are sprouting for Turnips (i love turnip tops and they are an amazing super food too) i also have seeds sprouting for Kale and Cavola Nero and a weird Italian cauliflower that is green and almost shaped like a pine cone! i want to get beetroots in and other goodies so very excited.

We get good frosts which Brassicas all love so finger crossed we shall have lots of fresh veggies to eat and sell at the local green grocer.

My meltdown from the other day is over..i took a breath and have been slowly rebuilding all the work i undid..sorry for the rant but i was super cheesed off and tired …yikes!

An interesting trip to the naturopath last week has me on some supplements for low magnesium and other bits and bobs..first time i have ever seen my blood cells under a microscope..poor things…tired they are..clumping in some places..oddly shaped in others…very bizarre..the weirdest thing was the teeny tiny floaties around the red blood cells..the naturopath asked when i had last eaten and what i had ..seems these floaties are fat..and she said my liver was breaking them down fine so bravo liver! she did however say she could see why i was tired…so armed with things i cannot even pronounce i came home..i have been a good girl ..less carbs more proteins..cut back a bit on sugar and back in a month.

I even got an email with the pics of my blood cells…we really are an amazing machine!

I am also excited because this week i get my new car! yep Harry High Pants (the Rodeo) will still be here as during fire season i need it to get out of Dodge! and that is why i am getting for the first time in my life a car that is NOT a family car or a WORKHORSE car..i am getting a lovely sporty hatch.

So lot’s happening this week..Doc is off to the vet tomorrow morning. He has a tooth i believe needs to come out and if so then his nails need doing while he is under..i want the vet to check some of his warts as they get knocked and bleed…and i also want to discuss his weird night time behaviour.

He has taken to going out at night and sleeping outside on his bed..now this is odd for him..neither of the boys ever sleep out at night they are in our room..and usually the slightest breeze and Doc is shivering…so weird.i have had to lock the laundry door to stop him as ..and i know you will think i am odd….but my biggest fear is that if something is wrong and he passes away in his sleep i do not want it to be outside alone in the cold.

So i think maybe he has a little doggy dementia or perhaps a cognitive issue with night and day which can happen to pups..thing is we have never been lucky enough to have dogs live to 12  and 13..so this senior dog stuff is new to us too!

A day to play

Well happy belated Easter and Passover wishes my friends..we had the kids and their partners up for Easter and then i got the post flu shot lurgy…bliss..

I spent some time with two of my boys taking pics of their tattoos..i forgot to get Michaels which i will have to do another time.
A funny thing to do i suppose but they are so proud of them and as they are on my boys then i take an interest too.
I also spent some time playing with some pics of flowers from my garden ..i was in a funny mood and i think maybe wanted to just do something different for a change..
Maybe i am sick of the dullness of a dry Summer that is stretching into Autumn..a seemingly endless stream of brown and grey..we have watched the clouds go around us..heard the news of rain and it has missed us completely….well i lie..we actually had three drops today.

The nights have been cool which is a blessing but the days are still warm and dry..and today alone there were three dead roos by the highway as the poor things come for the grasses by the roadside..

So with my landscape being so mundane i think i went in search of colour ..i did include a picture of a lovely piece of architecture on the St Mary’s church in town..i found the shape lent itself to a little sprucing up and is my little contribution to the Easter season ..

I hope you do not mind my little detour from the normal wildlife…

Thursdays lesson…French cooking with Cleo

Thankyou Cleo…but really I can’t actually read the cookbook if your panfur butt is planted on it.
I will be a bit offline soon as some of our kids and better halves come up for the weekend from tomorrow…so Cleo is helping me go through my French cookbooks…she does this by whapping my pen on the floor multiple times..then chewing the corners of the books..this is followed by jumping on the bench to see if she can help with the segmenting and sugar syrup coating of the Tangelo’s..i mean she does have some lovely peacock feathers up there on the wall behind her…..
Who said you cannot be a domestic goddess and a cat owner ….

A week is a long time in Blogville

Hi everyone

I have been offline for a week..may as well be a lifetime..i feel like I will never catch up now!!

Between intruders from Fri through to Monday..Applefest…CWA and everything else I have exhausted myself well and good and all I can say is I need a holiday…

You may or may not know I have Fibro so when I push myself I end up in a world of hurt..and that’s where I am at the moment…awesome..so bear with me as I try and catch up with all your bloggies and reply to your comments..i will get there ..I will try my hardest to catch up …good grief 🙂

So in the meantime as I try to get my energy levels back and get my CWA stuff up to date I will leave you with my prize winning pie pic ..yes best Apple Pie and best Apple cake…muffins I was beaten by our CWA treasurer who took out first and my daughter Rhiannon who took out second!

My boys and their beautiful singer Lana have a gig on the 27th..it has been awhile and those who know Phil and I know how happy we are about this…they are doing an acoustic set in the city.

I love my kids so much and for the boys Brad Chris and Michael music has been in their veins all their lives…their dad is a muso and so my house was a noisy one!

Brad on Bass Chris on Drums and Michael guitar….I was saved the noise from my beautiful Daughter Rhiannon as she went to art ..street art in particular and is so talented it makes me wonder how I had all these amazing kids!

Lana has the most beautiful voice and is as beautiful inside as she is out….her parents proud as punch also and just as happy that this gig is happening…

It doesn’t matter what life throws at you…eventually order is restored and the world shines on you again…I never thought I would see this happen and I thank the universe that I have my world back on it’s axis..

AHHH TIME…SHE MARCHES ON…I NEVER FEEL ANY OLDER THAN ABOUT 26..FOR SOME REASON THIS AGE SEEMS TO HAVE STUCK! WHY I HAVE NO IDEA AS AT THIS AGE I HAD FOUR KIDS..UNDER FIVE…MAGIC I KNOW …AND HAD NO TIME..PERHAPS WHY THIS AGE IS SET IN MY HEAD…BUT TIME DOES PASS..KIDS BECOME ADULTS..AND I HAVE BEEN LAUGHIN AT OLD PICS I FIND..PARTICULARLY THIS ONE OF ME HOLDNG MY RHIANNON..BRAD HAD HIS LITTLE NOSE OUT OF JOINT AND WAS IN FULL POUT AT THIS EVENT..RHIANNON WAS NONE TO KEEN EITHER ..BIT TOO NOISY IN THE OUSIDE WORLD..AND I ..WELL I WAS JUST A HAPPY MUM AGAIN..AND 2 YEARS AND 4 MONTHS LATER TWO MORE LITTLE BUBS JOINED OUR MADHOUSE..TRIBE COMPLETE…

I LOOK SO HAPPY SO YOUNG..JUST A KID MYSELF REALLY AT 24..TIME  SHE DOES MARCH ON..AND EVEN IF SHE STOMPS ON YOU A BIT THE MARKS SHE LEAVES ADD CHARACTER….WELL THAT’S MY STORY AND I’M STICKING TO IT….
