World Cat Day

Often people may wonder at how i can be a wildlife photographer ,live on acreage and maintain a healthy happy balance between wild and domestic.

I can..it has been hard and financially costly but it is possible.

Occasionally Cleo likes to join me on a walk..she is like a dog..she follows me around..and follows me back inside the house..

Dinnermintz prefers the front porch if she goes out.and there she stays..maybe to venture across the driveway and hide under a bush…the driveway being in our front yard and safe.

Pickles likes to go scratch up the garden..then dart back inside.

Marbles likes to go out the back garden  and relax.

This is in the cooler months…when the snakes are not around..they spend the warm months in the house or the catio and are inside before dark every day of their lives.

Today is World Cat Day..and i wanted to share my girls …

Wacky week

It has been a wacky week..i have been awol from the computer and only flitting in and out..the weekend festivities with finishing the girls KDS and Dinnermintz with the snake and blah blah..so I have been walking around hunched over and really dragging my feet..cars back and forth to be serviced and I started a course in Photography…about time.. and what are the chances my teacher is the cousin of a friend who was a chef and owner of our fave restaurant in the town we used to live in..3 hours away.. the red moon had us sitting out in the driveway and not five minutes after we both said ‘I hope a tree doesn’t fall on us ” we heard a massive crack and crash and a tree fell into the neighbours dam.. which instantly stopped all the little frogs croaking.. Cleo is not happy about being restricted to the whole inside of the house and the catio..so we have a bit of a battle.. but it’s getting there.. for some reason Doc has been unsettled at night so we have an eye on him..my sons have their 27th birthday today and so we will be seeing one tomorrow and the other on Saturday.. our daughter is in Japan and until I know exactly where I worry with the typhoon coming..so tomorrow night we have two of the kids up for the night…then Saturday we head into the burbs for an award night for Fozziedads uncle..one of our boys and his girlfriend is staying here to kitty/puppy sit.. but because Cleo is being a pill I want to drive back home Saturday night..so most likely we will be back here about 2am..i had to go clothes shopping for this event (which I hate) which has had me stressed as I really am not a shopper.. all this and so much still to get done..urghhh..
But today I got the bargain of a lifetime.. not for me for the girls…beach chairs..$5 each…so into the KDS they went.. and so.. i am here but not here…I am trying to catch up with peeps and doing a poor job..i wonder if maybe I have what it takes to be a blogger sometimes…

Behind the safety glass of the enclosure ..the giant Orange Tabby..or Domesticus Gingus Pluxurious…stalks her prey…as long as she stays in her cosy enclosure the Eastern Grey Kangaroo is safe….for it is no match for the Dinnermintz…..;)

Friday the 13th and power of the paw

I am not spooked by Friday 13th..we have storms here thunder lighting and rain..glorious rain…I am home with the pups and the kitties alone..but I am not worried..there is nothing to fear…I have my guard sheep in the front paddock and the canine sentries asleep in front of the fire..no there is nothing to fear….plus it’s a full moon….but I have the power of the paw to protect me…

I love my Dinnermintz and today I am thankful she is mine…she on the other hand may not be thankful for me popping a ribbon on her…but because she is nearly always mistaken for a male due to her colour I wanted to prove she really is my Girl 🙂

The Sweetest thing

I went to the mailbox today and when I saw the little package I got so excited….yes I am a three year old and get very excited by suprises 🙂

When I opened the box….I found the sweetest thing…..I have been sent by the very clever and very sweet Sharon from gentlestitches the most adorable mini me of our much missed Panther boy Simba.Sharon does these wonderful little animals in the style of  Amigurumi which is Japanese crochet of small animals ..she calls her animals Aussiegurumi of course!!

All I can say is a huge THANKYOU..indeed you did capture Simba beautifully..right down to his stumpy tail 🙂 and his little Rainbow Bridge cushion is such a lovely touch!

Hubby is interstate with work and when I sent him the picture he messaged me saying he got all teary….so thankyou for the beautiful gift ,the wonderful card and sentiment and for the joy of friendship over the bloggie world 🙂 Hugs and lovies to you from us 🙂

DINNERMINTZ WAS A THREE TIME FOSTER THAT WE ADOPTED 7 YEARS AGO JUST BEFORE WE HAD TO SAY GOODBYE TO OUR LOVELY SQUASH WHO WAS ALSO A GINGER FEMALE AND WAS 17 YEARS OLD…SO MY FOSTER FAIL WAS MEANT TO BE.

SECONDLY I WANT TO SEND MY LOVIES TO NYLABLUE AND HER MUM SHERRI-ELLEN WHO ARE STILL BATTLING WITH SERIOUS HEALTH ISSUES..WE HAVE ALL BEEN DOWN THIS ROAD AND ALL FEEL SHERRI-ELLENS PAIN AS SHE DEALS WITH THE SADDEST SIDE OF PET COMPANIONSHIP A PET WITH SERIOUS HEALTH PROBLEMS..PLEASE POP BY AND SEND YOU LOVE..SHE MAY NOT ALWAYS BE BLOGGING AT THE MOMENT AND STILL TRIES TO VISIT OUR BLOGS..BUT REAL LIFE MUST BE FRONT AND CENTRE…

HOPE YOU ALL HAD A GREAT XMAS AND BOXING DAY HAVE POPPED INTO MOST BLOGS AND IT SEEMS LIKE EVERYONE HAS HAD A BLAST …CAN’T WAIT TO CATCH UP..THREE DAYS OF 12 PEOPLE AND COOKING AND ENTERTAINING HAS LEFT ME A TAD LIKE ONE OF THE DOGS STUFFIES…MINUS SOME STUFFING AND POSSIBLY NO SQUEAK LEFT BWAHAHHAAHA
