Friday ..you got me unawares

Guys i am super sorry for not replying to comments and visiting..been busy this week and also had a tummy bug.

So i will catch up this weekend ..i will make a peace offering in the form of some Friday night entertainment…

Crabby Monday

Most of the weekend i had a brass band dancing on my head..that’s ok..it’s a tough noggin anyways..while i headed to bed to try and find some respite from the booming,hubby was busy fixing my sewing room up so it will make a better work space..
He painted the whole room..bought and assembled a desk for me..shifted all the things out to be sorted.
We did manage a trip out when my head calmed down and got some bits and bobs i needed.
Today i thought i would paint some undercoat on the trim of the built in wardrobe that hubby removed the doors from..the space is amazing in there and the people who built the house had installed the most hideous and cheap sliding doors..when hubby removed them the bright aqua that they painted the room in was revealed..
The house had been (apart from the kitchen which was blue cabinetry orange wall tiles) all given a coat of paint to try and sell it..so far as we can tell from our extensive painting is that the colour scheme went as such…
Laundry navy blue..walls and skirts
Our Bedroom..maroon walls and skirts with a green and blue tiled ensuite with pale green cabinetry(ensuite has yet to be redone)
Single room purple walls and skirts
Double room purple walls and skirts
Loungeroom navy blue walls and skirts(now redone)
Sewing room aqua….yikes!
They did so much right…then lost the plot..
Anywho…so today i gave the wardrobe insides a good lick of undercoat..it has been hot and damn humid..i was sweating like no ones business,but finished then gave a coat of undercoat to the plain unstained shelf that will be going up…
Now to get to my Crabby Monday..
I leave the room to get a drink of water..come back…someone..feline…has taken a piddle on the floor of the wardrobe insert..not just a spritz but a fullblown bucket full…
Really girls?? I love em too bits..but some days i do wish they went to day care..as i put them to bed before i wished them nitey night and looked at their innocent faces..
Urghhhhhh…i am crabby…
I may be a tad awol also..i have some things new and exciting (well i think so) to do and it is taking a lot of my time..i also have an appointment finally with a Rheumatologist on Wednesday in Melbourne and hope i can get some good advice ..while in town i will be taking a detour to Lygon Street..i can hear the Cannoli and cakes calling me 🙂

Wiped out Wednesday

Hi guys..well what a month it has been..we have been running a revolving door to the vets with Dinnermintz,Pickles,Marbles,Forrest and then Doc..
To say between this and yard work and Christmas preparation I am tired is an understatement.
Hubby has at the same time been working ridiculous hours some days 21 hours and travelling interstate to the point that neither of us remember where he is at times…sheesh. I think he is in Sydney…I think..

We are having the family up a week before Christmas and so if you think you are behind…then it’s ok..i am even more behind hahaha 🙂

The weather has been odd, we had some really stinky hot days then back to the heater..now it is warming up again and quite humid at night..great when you have internal combustion giving you trouble at the best of times.
The garden needs a pruning again as things have grown like mad, my tomatoes are coming along really well and once we can fence the whole part off from the pups the other beds will be planted out with Zucchinis (I love the flowers stuffed) ,cantaloupe, capsicums,chillies,peas,lettuce,corn,pumpkin,squash,spaghetti squash and a heap of other goodies…my greatest joy is to get my hands in the soil.

My camera decided to have a little hissy fit the other night…and I have to get it to the camera shop to be looked at..it seems ok but there is clearly something up with it..since it is my lifeline to sanity I was a tad unimpressed to say the least..i almost went into a panic mode..
But I had words with it and took it out and managed to calm my farm with some shots outside..nature..i thank you ..you always remind me my problems are smaller than they really seem..
Have a great day everyone..i need sleep…flying solo with 4 cats and 2 dogs and 3 sheep and 11 acres of scrub is weighing heavily on my mojo:)

Firstly let me apologise for my late replies to you all…I hit a wall and just had to rest…no great drama just lack of hours in the day and by evening when usually I do my blog and catch ups I was nodding off.
It has been all go here..co-ordinating the work that needs to be done..and it seemingly is never ending..
I am trying my hardest to catch up with you all..if I have missed anyone please again forgive me.
Spring it may be but the days have been HOT..making work harder and more tiresome..
We had the ground to prep for turf for the pups..so mega amounts of rotten stones had to be pulled up,soil spread out and the turf laid..this is hand watered twice a day until it sets roots..i have been fence painting and the heat has made this a real chore..when the water of sweat starts running out of my gloves I know its time to stop! I have pulled a mountain of weeds and old irises out from behind the stonewall as they were not working there..these had roots to China! then I attacked a large area of old veggie garden..now this ‘soil’ was like concrete and I decided like an idiot to break it up with a small garden fork and then crush it with the palms of my hands..now hubby cracked it with me..and he was right..i DID hurt myself..so off to the Drs today as I have really nasty tearing pain in my palm when I move my wrist to turn a tap or bend my hand back…so I have Tendonitis..rest he says…arghhh
I don’t need this now..also hubby is preparing the other side of the catio for an above ground pool..more stones being removed and road base down..this needs compacting then sand then the pool guys come on the weekend..i crawled backwards out from the potato bed and grazed my shin..my nails have all had to be cut off and I think I am getting a cold…bwahahhaah..lucky me 🙂
Our son and his wife and their little boy Jason were up on the weekend..Chris has Tendonitis in both his hands at the moment (not good for a drummer ) and so I knew he would help his dad even when he should not be..so I got him and Jason to make my scare crow..today I gave him a wig so he was complete I called him Twerker as the hip action looks hilarious and my Daughter-in-law Amber said it looked like it was Twerking ….
So I am catching up..i am still going to be in and out as for some reason the girls have added to the fun by peeing randomly through the house..just a little rebellion at being no longer free range..but after washing carpets in two rooms and then finding a hallway surprise..well I am working in and out up and down and now with one hand!

A quick update

Sorry folks for the lack of replies to comments..i have been a little snowed under as we all get…

It’s involved a broken down car (hubbies) a lot of cooking and baking for  a CWA conference today, a short précis for today also which was pill to write, trying to keep the garden from dying and sorting through a million pictures trying to get some order to my computer which also decided to play up and need to be reconfigured amidst a big Valentines bloggie event..

I hope to catch up on blogs when I return late this afternoon and hopefully the car won’t be still at the auto electricians…

We did take some time out to get out of the house this weekend …a rare thing due to the obligations here..but I felt if we didn’t get out after the heat that had kept us housebound with cabin fever  I would lose my tiny mind… we headed to Maldon for the antique fair…always fun to see all the weird and wonderful things people have collected…

Naturally I made a bee line for the beautiful Donkeys that were there..so until I return here’s a little sweet for your Monday morning…and off I go again….chat later..

I AM TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH ALL YOUR BLOGGIES BUT IF I LIKE AND DON’T COMMENT PLEASE DON’T BE OFFENDED I AM CLEARLY RUNNING OUT OF TIME..

DON’T GO HITTING THE EMERGENCY NUMBERS I MEAN THIS IN THE SENSE OF YEARLY DEADLINES.

SO I THOUGHT I WILL BRIEFLY FILL IN THE BLANKS ..SO HERE GOES IN POINT FORM…

1. I ACTUALLY TEARED UP WHEN I SAW BASHFUL OFF THE OTHER DAY…SERIOUSLY I AM NOT EVEN JOKING!!

2.I HAVE OFFICIALLY TAKEN OVER AS BRANCH SECRETARY FOR THE LOCAL CWA……LET THE PAPERWORK BEGIN…AND BEGIN ..AND BEGIN..YOU GET THE IDEA

3.DUE TO THE ABOVE I HAVE THREE DIFFERENT SETS OF MINUTES TO PREPARE AND ALSO THE SYLLABUS FOR THE YEAR….BRING ON THE HAND CRAMP

4.XMAS IS TWO AND A HALF MINUTES AWAY AND AS YET I HAVE NOT DONE THE MENU FOR 12

5.THANKGOODNESS I MADE AN EXTRA XMAS PUDDING LAST YEAR WHICH IS GETTING EVEN MORE BOOZE POURED ON IT IN THE LEAD UP TO XMAS LUNCH

6.THE GARDEN GOT OUT OF HAND DUE TO THE WEDDING AND THE LEAD UP SO I HAVE SPENT THE DAY GOING BETWEEN PRUNING FOR SNAKE SEASON AND ROASTING IN THE SUN  TO THEN COMING IN TO GET BACK TO PAPERWORK WHILE I COOL DOWN..

7.PICKLES MEANTIME HAD A VET TRIP AS SHE WAS LETHARGIC AND NOT EATING..ALL IS FINE SHE JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE ANY MONEY LEFT AFTER PAYING FOR THE WEDDING WAS GOTTEN RID OF…

8.I STILL HAVE MINUTES TO TYPE UP……..REALLY …MANNNNN

9.CLEO JUST WALKED INTO MY SEWING ROOM AS I TYPE TO SHOW ME SHE HAS A WINKY EYE..SUPER ..REFER TO NUMBER 7.

10.I HAVE A BOWL OF FRUIT SOAKING IN ALCOHOL TO MAKE A XMAS CAKE TOMORROW

12MONDAY I NEED NOT ONLY THE PAPERWORK BUT A PLATE WITH 3-4 (DON’T ASK ME I HAVE NO IDEA WHY ON THE NUMBER) BISCUITS DECORATED FOR XMAS TO TAKE TO THE MEETING WHERE THE PAPERWORK IS DUE..WHICH MEANS I AM MAKING BISCUITS TOMORROW AS WELL

13 I HAVE A MEETING ON THURSDAY WHERE THE MINUTES NEED TO BE HANDED IN AND MORE MINUTES TAKEN ON THE DAY FOLLOWED BY LUNCH WITH MY LADIES (I STILL NEED TO GET A KRIS KRINGLE PRESENT AND A BIRTHDAY PRESENT FOR ONE OF THE LADIES)

14.ON FRIDAY THE PRESIDENT (OF MY CWA BRANCH NOT THE USA ) THE TREASURER AND MYSELF HAVE BEEN ASKED TO ATTEND A COUNCIL FUNCTION

15.I HAVE SOME BLOGGIE POSTS AND PICS I NEED TO TEND TO, SOME AWARDS ALSO FROM LOVELY FRIENDS ,PICS TO GET SORTED ON MY COMPUTER (THOUSANDS) AND ON AND ON…

BOTTLES AND BAGS ..

WHAT A BUSY TIME OF YEAR THIS IS..ALMOST LIKE GROUND HOG DAY FOR US..WE HAD A WEDING THIS TIME LAST YEAR AND COMING UP IN A FEW WEEKS ANOTHER SON STEPS OFF INTO MARRIED LIFE..

AS YOU CAN IMAGINE IT IS ALL SYSTEMS GO..I HAVE YET TO GET AN OUTFIT..SINCE I HARDLY GO ANYWHERE THAT DOESN’T REQUIRE MY BLUNDSTONE BOOTS YOU CAN IMAGINE HOW MUCH FUN I HAVE SHOPPING FOR CLOTHES… I LOVE SHOPPING FOR KITCHEN TOYS..COOKBOOKS..HARDWARE STORES REALLY GET ME EXCITED..NURSERIES..LOVE IT..CLOTHES SHOPPING..YETCH!! I REALLY DON’T LIKE IT..THE STORE SALES PEOPLE DRIVE ME BONKERS..NO OFFENCE BUT I THINK I KNOW I LOOK LIKE GARBAGE IN SOME THINGS AND REALLY DON’T LIKE BEING TOLD IT LOOKS GREAT…I KNOW I AM NOT ALONE HERE ..

ANYWHO..WHEN I DID MY BIG TRIP THE OTHER DAY I PICKED UP THESE LITTLE BOTTLES FROM MY FUTURE DAUGHTER -IN -LAW..IRONICALLY I GOT THEM FOR HER TO BEGIN WITH SHE PICKED THEM UP AND NOW THEY HAVE BOOMERANGED BACK!

THESE LITTLE BOTTLES ARE FOR GUESTS ON THE TABLES..AMBER WANTED ME TO MAKE HOME MADE JAMS (JELLIES) ..I SUGGESTED WE DO JAMS FOR THE GIRLS AND RED ONION MARMALADE FOR THE BOYS..SO I HAVE THE BOTTLES AND SOON WILL GET MY WITCHES POTS OUT AND START BREWING…

I WILL DO A MIXED BERRY JAM..IT’S ONE OF MY FAVES..

ALSO ON MY BIG TRIP I POPPED IN TO MY LITTLE SISTERS…I MADE SANTA SACKS FOR MY NIECE AND NEPHEW WHEN THEY WERE BORN AND  EACH YEAR I GET THEM BACK AND ADD SOMETHING THAT IS APPROPRIATE TO THEIR YEAR..

FOR EXAMPLE ONE YEAR MY NIECE WAS CRAZY FOR GINGERBREAD MEN LOVED THEM AS A SNACK..SO I FOUND A GINGERBREAD MAN AND SEWED IT ON THE SACK..THIS YEAR SHE IS CRAZY FOR DINOSAURS AND I FOUND A CUTE ONE WHEN HUBBY AND I WENT TO A MARKET IN BRISBANE..

I THINK THAT IT IS A GREAT REMINDER NOT ONLY TO THE KIDS WHEN THEY GROW UP BUT TO THE MUMS AND DADS..A REMINDER OF WHAT WAS SO IMPORTANT AT THAT TIME IN THEIR LIFE..
