The other day as i ventured up from the dam after spending a fun time watching Wanda and her wee Buttons i came across some roos that had been camping in our lower paddock.
Now it can be hard to see them when they camp as they like to do so amongst the rushes.
More than once i have come across one and had the beejeebers scared out of me.
When you crest a hill and a big lad over 6 foot tall and all chest puffed and arms flexed is there it is quite a sight to see.
I defer to their right to be there and hope for the best 🙂
Well back to my trek up to the house..so i spot the roos…and the poor things must have been in a real daydream as i scared them a bit..i do not like to scare them so as i looked up i see roos going in all directions..i turned the camera on and shot some pictures..
I thought i saw what looked like a roo tumble over the reeds..damn..i hate that..i mean i know these guys are tough and all but i still hate to see them fall..
When i got back home i had got dinner sorted and mucked around a bit..when i finally got my sd card in the computer i went looking through all the shots of the wallabies..
Ok i come to the Blooper moment..what i saw next in my images were these shots..
Oh my..mid air collision of roos..both were fine after as i saw all roos hop off and then stand as a mob and watch me!
I guess sometimes even the wildlife is a tad uncoordinated and does not pay attention 🙂
Have a super weekend all 🙂
Cheers Fozziemum

Notice that there is a roo behind the rushes on the left..

Now the roo on the left takes off

Now rabbit up top left is taking off, roos are both in flight and not looking at each other

And the moment both roos collide!

Dust kicked up and over they go!

Calm restored..
makes me feel a touch better about my clumsiness……….we ALL tend to get distracted!

Awww shame Bev. Yes, things like that happens, even with them and just like you I also don’t like scaring the Vervets when they come and visit but now and then they are skittish, especially if they’ve been to a house where people chased them away. Makes me sad that these gorgeous animals had to learn to fear humans because of other people who just want to kill them. These are amazing shots darling. Thanks for sharing these beauties. You know I love them! 😀 ♥

It is sad but in a way i prefer they be wary..too many trusting ones get hurt..people can be awful..but they were fine and luckily not hurt..i am sure they tumble often when i am not around 🙂 big hugs and love Bev xx

I totally agree with you sweets. They can’t trust just anyone. Oh, they are tough little cookies and wouldn’t have been hurt. You should see how rough the Vervets play and fall out of the trees or bump into each other. Quite a treat to see that. I am just not as fast as you to capture that action. 😆

Whoopsie – a mid-air collision! Well, when you’re in a panic you don’t necessarily notice what’s around you…..you just GO FOR IT……..and these two obviously tried to do just that……great shots.

I had no clue that this can happen to roo’s too… thought that’s more a human thing to bump in each other while on the run… but maybe the evidence that roo’s are people too :o)

I wonder why we always assume that animals are totally coordinated and aware of their surroundings? Ray has tripped over mystery (we couldn’t see anything) objects; has jumped up onto a large rock…. and fallen off, and has jumped into a ravine! Agility, logic and common sense are not always apparent. I guess your roos are no different! 🙂

I know Colin..i have seen them trip and they actually look embarassed! Forrest has tripped so has Doc..and tonight one of the girls crawled into a catbed which then rolled onto the couch causing another of the girls to leap up as it continued on to the floor..we all i guess have an element of slapstick comedy to our bodies 🙂 🙂

Those are awesome pictures. I have also seen some clumsy animals in nature. Most notably ospreys. I found one almost fly into a tree and another hit a telephone line with the fish he was carrying.

WOW! Great pix, Bev!! I love seeing roos, wallabys, and such. Do you have any Koalas nearby? I read somewhere that they are not as sweet and lovable as they appear. Please tell me that’s not true!

Thanks sweets 🙂 we have the wrong trees here for koalas 😦 but yes they can be feisty indeed ..they have quite sharp claws and are very strong..ones in captivity are generally not so feisty 🙂 🙂

Beautiful shots; beautiful subject matter. Sadly I don’t see the wildlife anymore. I hear them sometimes when I am out with the dogs at nighttime, but they are generally beyond the fence-line.
