Remembering what was fought for

I apologise for my lack of blogging folks..it has been bugging me that other things have taken up my time..i will be back and in the thick of it again soon..

Lot’s of exciting things and weird things and scary things happening at one time have been keeping me from being here.

I took a down day today and got into the garden..it has never been so neglected and some weeds were almost as tall as me..i felt ashamed of the state it was in..and the house could do with a good clean as well..anyone who has known me knows this is really not me at all.

So i was so happy to just walk away from the computer, from spending time chasing orders and sorting files and cataloging and framing and printing and driving around like a madwoman.

Time away from Drs appointments of which todays was almost the last straw..another story for another time in another galaxy hopefully far far away..

And of course nature is the place i prefer to hang out in..i can do this because i have the freedom of choice..a freedom that today we remembered was hard fought for by many brave men ,women and animals.

I am sure that when they had our country in their hearts they were thinking of not only the people but the place we live..the ground we call home..the land we rely on and our need to be free to enjoy all that we have.

Every thing we have and hold dear is a gift and should always be appreciated..the large the small the seemingly insignificant ..because many brave souls lost their chance to return to this land..and many who did would never be the same..

Lest we forget ..

Please enjoy some reflective time with me in the garden..i am off to bed…

Just a happy to hop

  3. Your photos are breathtaking as always, Bev, and your words beautiful. We need to never take for granted all of those who have sacrificed so we can enjoy the things we have.
Starting a new business can be all consuming, and dealing with that as well as health issues all too much. I hope the scary things go away as well. We miss you, but know you will be back when the time is right for you! xxoo

  4. Bev your post is beautiful and poignant. Blessings to those who are willing to sacrifice so that we may all have freedom! I am going to share a little nugget with you that I have always told my Mom….the dust will be there tomorrow, but the joy I might find in today may not! Let the dust sit and enjoy the little joys my friend!

  6. Hey Bev!!
What a lovely memory post. We will never forget…and I hope the younger generation will remember.

Oh I was just reading the bday post of my friend’s 14 year old daughters birthday. Emily is a very smart and beautiful 14 year old. Guess what her favorite supper request was? MacNcheese and key lime pie. Wishing you and I had been there to help her celebrate.

  7. Hi sweetness. I am on a blogging break as it’s very, very hot here and I am trying to fix up my imported blog posts from my old blog, but it’s going very slowly. Your posts do come through in my email and I just had to pop in and say I am glad you’re doing better. I am also taking time off to just connect with nature more and just take care of things around and in the house. But at around 11am in the mornings it’s so hot that I can’t do anything else. I know you will understand because you get hot summers as well.

Then I just want to say your photos are just amazing as ever and I so love each and every one of them! The Katydid, Ladybirds and Crab spider are my favourites of course and only because you didn’t have a Roo in here somewhere too. LOL!

You take care sweetness. I am going to turn off my pc now and go and lie in the pool. Summer is upon us! 😀
