That’s right folks MODEM not modern..for the last two weeks my internet connection has had all the get up and go of ahibernating bear.
The circle of doom ever spinning..so every time i visit a blog..it spins…..waiting…waiting..you get the picture..
Finally the blog post opens ….the pictures…waiting to load…waiting….finally then i comment..waiting waiting…
Any attempt at trying to see or comment on blogger or blogspot is a nightmare…it just keeps spinning..no pictures loading..and well you get the picture (i hope you do because i don’t)
Hubby spent about an hour and a half on the phone to the service provider last night..we thought we had gotten to the bottom of it..and he also tried to get my emails fixed..
So this morning ..fresh start….same dang thing….and the bonus is now i get duplicate emails….i am losing my tiny mind…
I did a few posts and got them ready to post..stuck them away until the days i need them..tried to get some research stuff done..but the internet was soooo slowwwww…i tried Facebake..same thing…
I have been trying to read your blogs tonight and it is such a slow process that i gave up on blogger and blogspot ..sorry guys but seriously this is crazy slow…and even WP is slow…
It seems our Modem is getting it’s knickers in a not with the WI-FI on our computers and the T-Box may hold the clue..Hubby is fiddling with it now..i have not heard a blood curdling scream or any cussing…YET…
Our landline phones ..well one is dead the other is temperamental at the best of times..so that is another joy..
While all this happens we have a small field mouse which appeared in the laundry this morning…we saw it again tonight ..we do not know where it has gone..
Doc has the vets in the morning and is fasting..i do hope he does not find said mouse and ruin his fast..urghhhh…
Hubby is drying dishes and whistling…i have a feeling in my waters that when he goes back to the T-BOX all hell will break loose…
So if you do not see me comment..know i have tried and will keep trying..that i tried last night and threw myself at the mercy of the couch with a small biscuit and a sharp clawed kitty…seems i am not cut out for MODEM living…
And that is the end of my rant…:)

We were getting the circle of doom constantly a couple of weeks ago and the webs was creeping… drove me to distraction. Called our ISP and the tech came out and said our underground wire was bad from years of moisture. So he hooked us up a new shiny black wire and ran it from the house all the way to the road. Of course it is still laying? lying? laying there on the ground and we are waiting for a squirrel to give it a good chomp. BUT we are flying around the webs like a demon now… 😀 Any bets how long it will take them to get out any bury the wire WITHOUT hitting something important when they bury it? Modem living… that is what I was talking about on the Book of Face Bev… blogging, picture storage/editing, commenting… it can get overwhelming!

Yikes! well we had the new NBN put in awhile ago..oh it will be faster than the speed of light…hmm seems not..and we have no wire stuff apart from what looks like a small space shuttle panel on the roof…it is enough to make you want to scream alright…i bet that a squirrel has it dead in it’s sights at your place hahahhaah 🙂

How appropriate you end with a purr things butt – snorts and rolls with laughter. I feel your pain my friend. We were having the same problem. Slow…slow..beyond slow…and hells of slow with the speeds of our internet. We finally got fiber optics internet installed. It cost a small fortune but we at least have consistently now. Oh, I feel your pain! We had that problem some time ago and it drove me crazy. Thankfully we have better service now. Technology is at the root of so much stress these days.

I say that all the time!! When my daughter has stressful tech problems with her Kindle, I tell her I could have opened a book, relaxed, and read 20 pages by the time she’s got the darn thing working right. LOL!!

I was just starting to wonder whether you live in Africa, but then I realized you are actually in the Land of Oz. Here “they” (who are “they”?) cut our wires (just for fun according to our telecom services). Our mobile services are just as bad – wonder if “they” kick down the towers (just for fun). Every now and then the modem starts spinning away happily – and then we have a power cut to save electricity which kills the modem; “they” call it load shedding – we call it “load sh*tting).

Genis that sounds nuts! shutting off the power ??? what’s with that…there would be anarchy here if that happened..i must say i do not know who they are but they need a swift boot in the pants 🙂 xxx

Yeah, we would also like to plant that boot, but it is unfortunately a part of our daily life now. Due to bad management we do not have enough power plants and those that we do have do not work properly or there is not enough coal available to fire up the power stations or … or … or. We have official load shedding schedules which we consult before we start our day – must make sure that the electricity will be on when we go shopping, switch on the washing machine, etc. Then, of course, the schedules are not always up to date or have been changed at the last minute.

Oh, sweet Bev I am so sorry. I came by to see if there was any word on how sweet Doc is doing and find you are having bad modem issues. I sure hope it all gets worked out very soon…computer too slow or not working is very aggravating. I too hope sweet Doc did not find the mouse and mess up his fast, I hope too he gets a good report from the vet. That photo is adorable, gave me a very big smile. Love, hugs and nose kisses all around from me and my crew.

We certainly know how you feel. Today, things are moving like molasses. When we moved here, we only had two choices for internet — cable or satellite. Sadly, mom chose satellite. If she had known how slow it would be, she would never have done it, but the cable company insisted we have a phone too which mom didn’t want. Eighteen month contract with the satellite company. Ugh.

What a pain for mum sweetie…yep we always get sucked in to contracts pretty sure our modem is the issue…and yes moving like a snail with a backpack full of bricks through molasses….yikes ! xxx

I go through the same thing all too frequently. Just went through it last weekend and the weekend before (we had had our boxes swapped for everything and then BOOM!) I was also on the phone for forever! It seems to me like our internet provider does whatever system repairs, changes, etc on the weekends, (do they think that no one is using the Internet on the weekend?) Drives me batty!!
What I often try to do that sometimes helps is go and clean out my cache. (Internet pages that I have viewed or Internet history, something to that effect) and that often will enable the pictures to load again and get rid of the “little blue circle of doom”….when that doesn’t work, then I call our provider who sadly, has come to know me all too well!!

I hear ya!!!! we have wires efurrywhere and that’s the only way to blog( no wifi since weeks)… but I’m not ungrateful… while I wait till the site with the post appears, I can clean out my dishwasher and I can do the laundry( without a mouse I hope)… I hope they will fix this sh*t on both sides of our slice earth… we are waiting for the costumer service who promised to come last friday… maybe this guy used his own sh*t company for his GPS and couldn’t find the way because of “no connection available” :o(

Our modem drove us crazy for years. We didn’t know it was the problem, but we bought a new one and it made an incredible difference. Good luck. ☺

We’re with Optus and it has been very slow. Even took the computer in to be cleaned up, but seems to be the service provider. Could be the NBN roll out. BUT whatever, it is Bl**dy annoying!

Yep..we are with Telstra we had the NBN stuff put in last year..bells and whistles faster than the speed of light…my a** it has to be the modem..same this morning..and i have heaps to do..which of course takes 50 thousand times longer….since it is all 4 computers it is surely the modem…over it..urghhhh

LOL I like to have peace & quiet. Sunday had 3 people plus myself & Siddhartha Henry in here & it was fun but so taxing; making tea, get the biscuits, do this,, do that…they all left I got to do the dishes. How you do all the cooking & dishes for 8 extra peopel is amazing! You are my SHERO Bev!!!
