A view to a Roo

I have seen some amazingly moody skies here lately..they appear all gruff and angry and i taunt them…’come on give us your best shot’ ..but they are all bluff and no stuff!
When i get to the top of our road the view to the surrounding area is wonderful..you have the grey/blue of the gum trees and further in the distance the vivid green of pine plantations..even further still i can see the flat top of the mountains i think it is Mount Franklin..i must actually look it up!
So often i just stop the car and take some pics..if i am lucky i usually have the added bonus of the Ketchup Mob…which seems to be changing..a lot of young males and females many young females with joeys in pouch and only a few big boys..the really big boys have been absent..
They do go between all properties on our street and i think they are very generous to share their time with all of the neighbourhood.

We have one new house being built and i wonder what they think of that..the other block at the bottom of the street has sold and they are cleaning it up and doing a great job..a lot of work but we can see old fencing we have never seen before due to weeds and overgrowth..this too must make the roos wonder!

So the other day as we drove out i took a couple of snaps..the roos were a bit edgy and so we did not stay long.one young one in particular we have had to be super careful of as he seems to be very skittish and flies off in every which way ..always away from the others and with no real plan!
This one has us driving even more slowly down the street!
I decided to have get my own back on the sultry skies and really turned the picture into a moody one..

I hope you enjoy your day..i am off to bed..i have been test driving cars..and may have eaten something suss for lunch as my tummy is not a happy camper šŸ™‚ and so i am pooped..literally…:) šŸ™‚

  2. that’s a super “here I am” look … hope all are as careful as you when they meet the ketchup mop on the street… the sky looks like Chris de Burgh’s waiting for a hurricane… but it’s a great photo, I sometimes feel like that lonely tree, surrounded by dark clouds …

      • True Bev and as a teacher myself I think the most important thing is to find out what the student wants. Last month I taught a chap to knit because he wanted something for his pregnant wife and his baby. He wanted a toy and he took away a toy. The main thing is to inspire not squash. ā¤ ā¤ ā¤

        • Absolutely..and i have had my fair share of ‘looks’ from photographers which at first made me feel like i was a fake..you know what i do not care now..i am honest when i have worked on something and i am honest with what i am trying to share..i have no training i have no qualifications and i have trouble still driving my camera and working out many post production issues..but i am qualified at life and what is beautiful..to me ..like it or not it is what it is šŸ™‚ xx

  5. thanks for the roo photos…I am off to a “Safari Park” that is about four hours away to spend time with a bunch of roos. Evidently you can get pretty close to them, like the ones I saw in Sydney a few years ago…It’s a good thing too because I need to spend some time observing their faces and ears. It’s tough to know exactly what they are like from pictures.

    • It sure is! i imagine they will be quite tame so you should have a much better look šŸ™‚ i wonder how big they are? i know in wildlife parks here they seem to be a lot smaller i will be curious to know! have fun they are gorgeous and i bet you fall in love with those long long lashes šŸ™‚ i think i found a good shot the other day of their lashes..so jealous hahah:) xx

        • Yep i think the big ones are maybe too much to risk with people handling them..a lot of wallabies too are in sanctuaries and they are a lot smaller šŸ™‚ ours are indeed healthy ones ..:)

            • So happy for you sweets šŸ™‚ they are beautiful and I would love to pet one of these…but ahh nup…biffo :)..I have before at sanctuaries and when we were taking fruit and veggies to a shelter that was surrounded by burnt out land after the 2009 fires..we got to see the poor sweethearts with their burned feet…the vets coming and changing bandages while we petted them…so sad..so very sad…but I felt so lucky to be able to offer maybe a comforting hand…I look forward to the post!! šŸ™‚ xxx
