It’s pretty neat that they just walk into your back yard. I’ve only ever seen kangaroos at the zoo, so this is quite enjoyable for me! The only things that com won’t my back yard at deer and bears.
LikeLike
Hahaha yep it’s not typical Aussi life but being rurl and on land we get them š this is the front yard and the rest of the guys were down he back..mum and bub having a quiet moment š bears…hmmm now that would be a worry š

That’s pretty cute! Bears aren’t that bad. If you leave them alone, they’ll leave you alone. The movies make it look so much worse than it is. Although, I wouldn’t go romping through the woods at night. Then you’re just asking for trouble. And the deer are too dumb to know know what’s going on so they just take off.

I agree…you always see idiots feed them the wonder why they are in their rubbish looking for food….the same reason I don’t feed the roos…they need to fend for themselves and that way the balance is safe š

Exactly! Smart decision. I don’t feed the deer either.

Great..i think it’s the best way…humans interfering cause problems that always end in the animal paying the price..

I couldn’t agree with you more! We’re better off just leaving all alone. That’s how it was meant to be.

I know..i don’t even feed the birds…they come to the garden for water..feed is abundant..and so our domestic and wild friends here all live in harmony with respect š

The Roos sure are an fascinating animal.
Hope they stay out of your yard now that the fencing is finished.
All I see is squirrels in my yard. They dig in my flower pots.
Happy Labor Day.

Is it true roos fur is very soft, but koalas is rough? When my dad did some work in Australia, he brought me back a Koala toy which was so soft. He said he was told it was made from Kangaroo fur. I loved that Koala so much if eventually felt apart when I was in my 20s:)
Hope you have had a good start to the week.

Really beautiful photos Bev. Nice to see the green grass. 2nd. day of Spring here and we are expecting nearly 30* C. Yesterday was very warm. Last day of winter and I had a big burn off piling sawn skinny trees I could drag onto big pile and big bonfire. So glad to finally get some of the bush, bit too close to the house, making me anxious cut down. Carefully selected tho’. No good animal housing taken, just crook and dead trees. Fair bit more to go yet as I am preparing constantly for fire season.
Birds around the place are breeding. Hopefully babies soon!

yeh, I took visiting family to a lovely piece of old forest recently and made them stop on the road so I could rescue a large carpet snake on the road which was too sluggish to move. I moved it off with a stick so it would not get run over. At least you should be relieved that the animals are safer from coming up against them this season.

I feel much better indeed..i mean if one gets in now at least I know we tried our best to keep them as safe as possible…..good girl you! snakes are amazing and have a vital role to play…as long as they stay put of the house yard..that’s the deal I have with them… I can’t go through another snake bite incident it was so traumatic for us š¦
