A week on a wednesday

Depsite my recalcitrant computer and it’s dodgy video and volume issues the WP gremlin and eyeballs that feel like they have been sandblasted…I still have had a good week 🙂 I am nothing if not resisiliant….hubbies car was rear ended and has spent the week at the mechanics..our old mobiles got replaced and I have been trying to learn to drive the new one..the food processors passed away  …R.I.P old friend…but life goes on and so..

Here are some images I have snapped with my new mobile phone…I am still learning to drive it but all is good so far and it has been too cold to take my camera outside..have a great rest of the week…

This is the start of 40 metres of the back snake and roo proof fencing…we are having Perspex panels to maintain the sunset views but keep the pups safe and secure..

We have a ways to go but the weather dictates when we can set concrete..

And it has been frosty and very cold down here ..

Even had some hail for awhile…a lovely change from the heat of our past summer..

So cold the town was like a ghost town on Sunday…

A beautiful crisp ghost town though

So Pickles booked the fireside cabin for one for the weekend…

Which soon became a twin share when Cleo joined in…

So I settled down to knit some critters…

And make a new jacket for Doc…

Which I am sure he will be happy to wear to the vets tomorrow….

  1. Oh my friend. I ❤ that fence. That's a neat idea to still see the sunsets. Awesome thought! It's so beautiful there. Maybe one day when my mom/dad hit the lottery they can come visit. Wouldn't that be fantastic? Sorry to hear about your hubby getting rear-ended. Oh my, that didn't sound right did it? Snorts. Take care my friends. XOXO – Bacon

    • Bwaahhah no it didn’t and yet it is tres amusing bwhaahah 🙂 we thought of stain glass but too dangerous with the gumtrees..this way we get the views still ad the pups can’t see any passing roos to get agitated..snake mesh will be stapled to the bottom ad dug in so no snakes..the gates are made flush the same as the paling and will have heavy duty rubber at the bottom..and then the fence will have cat capping so the girls can’t get out either..the whole back part of the house yard will be safe..a doggie door straight into the laundry and we have a big covered verandah out there …sound good ? hugs Fozziemum xxxx

  2. Those are great pictures and that is such a nice fence. Interesting about making it snake proof along with Roo proof. Guess you do have a lot of snakes there. Sorry about all your troubles. Everything seems to happen at once.

    • It does Marg and it’s just life 😉 yes we have had a few and they are nasty ones..Forrest had a bite from a juvenile Eastern Brown and we are lucky to still have him…as for roos it is more to stop Forrest jumping a fence after one..so this way nature and the animals can all be happy..:) hugs Fozziemum

  3. Seems like you got the hang of that new phone camera nice and quickly! Super photos. The fence is going to be a great addition – how lovely not to have to worry about snakes. Doc looks great in his new coat, as do the cats by that roaring fire. Keep on keeping on Fozziemum 😀

    • Thanks Annie getting there 🙂 it will be great to have the freedom to go out and leave the boys outside..without worrying..they will have a dog door into the laundry and all the verandah as cover so it will be great for them and us..been pretty much house bound for nearly three years,,,and Docs coat was fun to make,…I fell bad for that fabric 🙂 hugs to you Fozziemum xx

  4. Hmmm.. where do I start? So many good and fun things. The fence is awesome and I know you do so know how I love a fence! That would be very nice on The Tiny Ten.. 🙂 That is one sturdy, good lookin’ fence. Will you be staining it or leaving it au naturel? A very beautiful town! Cleo and Pickles together in a basket.. ♥ The knitted critters are darling and so is the four leg critter in his coat. Sorry about your dry eyes Bev, can’t be fun… Hugs.

    • Oh Pix I do know!! I think we will leave it natural..where we already have the sides done is natural and it is weathering nicely…oh yeah fences…big strong and well…pretty hot …the things us country gals get excited over hahaaah 🙂 thankyou we love town..this pic just needs a horse or two 🙂 and the fireside cabin is popular with the kitties 🙂 I am having fun with the critters …small as they are and bad for my eyes!! and Doc …well he loves when I make a new coat..sort of..hahaah my eyes will come good…might need to up the meds 😉 hugs Bev XXXX

  6. Love that jacket you made for Doc – will keep him warm….hope the vet visit goes well…..also love the little “critters” !! It was a brilliant idea to put windows in your snake/roo fence too – you won’t miss those sunsets now but won’t have to worry about more snake visitors which is GOOD. Hang in there – I’m sure you’ll be elbow-deep in baking projects now that the cold has moved in for good “down under” !

  9. well, that’s really a fence… and we howl about 18 meter we have to fence (naaah we haven’t finished it yet lol) Doc, your jacket is a masterpiece! you look great! what is “the good table” in that building on the right side?

  10. What a fence!! It even has a window! could see if there were any dogs out there but then it would have stuff on top to keep me in….that I wouldn’t like but I guess I’d get used to it. It would be worth it if it kept out the snakes. I hate snakes. Yuck!! Those little critters you crochet are just about the right size for Cleo and Pickles to carry around with them. Mom crocheted a rabbit about 20 years ago its still kicking around. Although now it spends most of its time at the bottom of the toy bucket. Winter is the time for that guy.and that’s a ways off yet. Sorry bout hubby’s car accident….its never a good time to be rear ended. Bummer!! hahaha. Doc looks super in his new jacket….poor guy going to the vet. I can’t get over how mild your winter is…granted I know it would be very cold to folk that aren’t used to it. I’m talking too much again.

    • Hahahha Shoko thank you ..there will be windows all along..the kitties are fine to wander but not on summer..even with 11 acres we need them to be safe..Forrest was bitten this year and we are lucky he is alive…it’s great mum still has her bunny! they so often go missing…hubby is fine was just a mild bump but the needs fixing…life happens 🙂 Doc will be fine I am sure we will her from the vet soon I hope and yes our summers are hot so cold here is cold but not freezing 🙂 we get snow but in the alpine regions of Australia and they have had record snows this winter 🙂 hugs and loves to you Fozziemum xx

  16. Window in the fence….BOL! We’re sure our friends in the northern hemisphere will laugh at a ghost town due to the cold! But we understand…or at least SHE does. The dogs love the frost and cold.

    Good luck at the Vet’s.
