Fridays Down Under


My day started with some comedy…I know how unusual…I thought Phil was getting up for work..ok so he got out of bed then the next thing I know he’s whacking at the Doona (duvet) straight away I though he had lost the plot and was trying to kill me…

I asked him just what he thought he was doing..bear in mind I was asleep still…sort of..

Well apparently something crawled up his arm and he was swatting it off the bed…it was a spider and was crawling on the covers near me…so he was trying to ‘get it of the bed’ hmmmmm

So we both went back to sleep ..me with one eye open…I didn’t see any spider…hmmm

And that is how Friday started…

After brekkie I spotted Holly and Boo in the front yard…they are so well camo that I am still finding it hard to tell if Boo is a boy or girl..there is a smallish mob that are enjoying the green shoots of grass that are coming up on the properties in our street..to give you a better picture ..

We live in a dead end street..right at the end on the left side..each property is large we are on the second largest with 11 acres the people at the very bottom are on 12 in all there are 8 lots ..none of them smaller that 9 acres ..we have no neighbours yet on our left side but the lot has been sold..there are only 4 other houses in the street…so it’s good habitat for the roos with dams all around and people who respect nature..even when they build next to us and sell the 3 other lots the roos will be safe with plenty to graze 🙂

And it’s finally cool enough for me to get my bake on in between crocheting like a lunatic..so today I made Cookies and Cream baked cheesecake with a choc biscuit base…

So all in all I am winning today..except for the fear of being swatted in my sleep again tonight !! have a great weekend everyone…loves you all 🙂

  1. I’m glad it was just a spider :o) I would like to have fall like you and we could skip the summer ( and now all try to kill me, because they are waiting for summer). Have a great friday and enjoy that tasty cheese cake ( naaaah, mom it’s not essential to make one too… please don’t)

    • Hahaahah I thought of your mum when I was baking it..and I agree Summer was not good this year…I hope yours is not like ours Easy!! we have a cyclone bearing dwon on the top of our country now…very late in the season and the worst one in over a hundred years..fingers crossed all are safe .have a great weekend Easy and keep licking mums poor eye 😉 Pee Ess Doc still ahs an eye patch if mum wants to be a pirate 🙂 ❤ ❤ xx

  3. mmmmm cheesecake…one of my favorites. Along with chocolate mousse, fruit tarts with pastry cream OR lemon curd, and any kind of custard like flan, creme caramel or creme brûlée…can you tell that my husband is a pastry chef??? 🙂

    • Hahahahah I do need a protection piggie I think Bacon! and Dinny mooz as I call her has quite the tushie 😉 we just had a slice of Cheesecake and it was yum..in my normal mixture I put nearly a whole block of cookies and cream chocolate and five broken up chocolate cookies…ahhhh devine…Pee Ess keep an eye out for the mailman..;) hugs and lovies Fozziemum xx

  5. Yikes a spider in the bed alert. Mind you with your kind of spiders it would be &$£%&*_(&*^(*{>%%! Gosh you are lucky having so much open space. Our garden is no bigger than a postage stamp. Big sigh. Hello to the roos.

    • I know Molly Yikes indeed …ewwwwww…we are very lucky..we started with a small place and gradually got bigger..all so the pups and kitties would be safe…the roos are a bonus indeed..i didn’t see any glowing bot bot though like the Festo Roo bwahahahaah 🙂 Hugs and lovies Fozziemumxxx

    • Thanks Sammy..we just had a slice and it was nommy!! I think Holly’s boyfriend is still hanging with the mob..she pops over by her self every now and then..hope he isn’t a Cad and a Bounder 😉 and yes this weather is much much nicer 🙂 Hugs Fozziemum xxx

    • Oh I hope you get to visit..we have some amazing critters down here ..some weird and wacky and all stunningly unique..we are very lucky to have mobs of roos living here and the whole neighbourhood leaves them to enjoy their world..they were here first after all 😉 and thankyou for the lovely compliment 🙂

    • Hahahaahahah doesn’t happen much with a spider…no more than when we lived in the burbs’ and the acreage next door has sold but the ne down the bottom is amazing great views and has the creek running through…maybe it is spider free 😉

    I assume your Autumn temps will be like our Spring and Summer temps.

    • Hahahah Sue it was bugless 🙂 our winter temps get down to maybe -4 at the most some mornings but then warm to single digits…so nothing like snow weather 🙂 and thankyou Dinnermintz does have a cute little set of pantallons on her bwahahaha 🙂 cheesecake a plenty here 😉 Hugs Bev XX

  25. Love that last picture and that cheesecake looks fabulous. Why do I have to live so far away from you? Harper Lee gets so excited about seeing squirrels in the back yard. Makes me laugh to think what she would do if she saw a kangaroo . . . probably run behind the closest human. 🙂

    • Hahahaah the first time when we moved here that the boys saw a roo they lost their cheese! had no clue what it was hahaha 🙂 I am sure Harper Lee would be very curious 🙂
