Thursday fun and games

Well after doing my scones fresh this morning I toddled of to our State conference..also with my item from recycled materials for the competition..

I had no proper criteria for the scones so didn’t get anywhere with them..they were light as air and I thought pretty good..i didn’t get a chance to grab the judge and find out where they missed out but she did say that the scones were all great but missing in some criteria…this criteria is beguiling…so she is going to do  class in what the judges look for..bonus is I still have a batch of really yummy scones!

Not too bad I don't think!

Not too bad I don’t think!

But bizarrely I am an occasional sewer and took an item that was made from recycled goods…my fave work jeans which were ripped to shreds at the knee had a butt blowout thus causing them to be dead! I also had a heap of old tea towels that the CWA were going to throw out, some old doilies of my grandmas and some old buttons of my grandmas..so I made a bag..

I lined the inside with a teatowel and made an internal pocket..this is inside out

At least I didn't come home empty handed and I got a book voucher

At least I didn’t come home empty handed and I got a book voucher

I love the certificate and maybe with the book voucher I can by a book titled “criteria for show judging scones! ”

I met hubby at the vet with Doc who was getting his vac’s and am relieved that the wart on his back that had been bleeding is okay..thankyou!! a huge relief..

So tonight I am packing bags for our brief trip, lists are written instructions for the pets…

And hubby has made great strides getting 16 metres of fencing done with just …59 to go…….

Well done Phil..

Well done Phil..

59 to go....

59 to go….

So when we get back it’s back to the grindstone..the weather is lovely in Brisbane so some sun will help us get re-energised as it has been bitterly cold here!!

Talk and blog when I return stay safe all and enjoy you weekend 🙂 Fozziemum

Busy week

Hi everyone..busy week ahead and may get behind the eight ball..accept my apologises in advance!

Ran myself ragged last week and am paying the price now..naturalmondo! I have a scone competition on Thursday so did a practice batch yesterday pretty happy with the result see how we go,meanwhile have to do a Pet roster for Rhiannon so she knows the drill with the fur babies while she looks after them…honestly the prep for going away is always so much work that unless the holiday is extended it’s really heavy on the con side!

AIRLIE BEACH

AIRLIE BEACH

Would love a long break at Airlie Beach again…but a break is a break!!

Making sure their meals are done properly, their routine well mapped out,vet numbers, emergency numbers..blah blah..good grief!

Woke up middle of the night on Sunday/Monday with a nose full of cold..thrilled…

And have been draggin my butt around since hahahaha.

I am looking forward to two nights without the mayhem that is our life..i do miss the babies but a tiny break keeps us all sane! with a wedding coming up in November and still all the fencing to finish then organise the property for fire season two nights off is better than a poke in the eye with a pointy stick!

Hubby needs a break too work has been insanely busy and we both seem to have aged this last year..well of course we have but even more so than expected!

And still need to get Doc and the four girls down to see Dr Rayya for their c5 before boarding in November for the wedding..Forrest already had his with his bloodworks..

And of course Dr Rayya will be leaving our town next month and heading back to Dubai! We sure hope we still see her Facebook pics and I am sure her bloggie will still be there also. The vets at our clinic are all brilliant but we will still miss her smiling face and camera in the surgery 🙂

So Friday morning we fly up to Brisbane…25 degrees Celsius at the moment better than our miserable expected ‘high’ of 11c….we fly home Sunday so I still get doggie and kittie kisses for my birthday 🙂

If you don’t see much of me it’s because i’m chasing my tail at the moment and will catch up on as much as I can in the bloggiesphere .

Have an awesome day everyone cheers Fozziemum 🙂

COUNTRY WOMENS ASSOCIATION CONCERT DAY

Today we had the concert with the CWA for the public and other CWA groups..

What a hoot of a day..these lovely ladies of whom I have recently joined are amazing! they are mostly in their 70’s and 80’s and have a spirit and energy that puts me to shame!

The whole concept being to raise money for various charities, women’s groups and generally improve the lives of women and families.

For my overseas friends they have a reputation as being some of the best cooks you can find.

These women have been through it all..wars droughts floods rearing children, raising stock, farming and keeping families and the community glued together.

After rehearsals yesterday I headed to the shops..still in my stage gear..strangely didn’t raise an eyebrow!

I was running out of time so just had to be done! Raced home and set about my baking frenzy.

We put an afternoon tea on after the concert so aprons throughout the community were donned! I had already made a little parcel of Vanilla biscuits with vanilla bean icing for the door prize hamper so was kind of organised..

And so I baked a Choc-vanilla cheesecake swirl slice some Cherry macaroons and some White choc orange ganache filled macarons (which could have been better but it rained, apparently the enemy of Macaron baking  is rain ..go figure! )

Then I made a pie for dinner and finally sat down!

My back is caning now..i have been at the CWA organising food ,being a poor thespian ,doing dishes, cleaning but having a ball with my gorgeous ladies!

We had a great turnout 100 seats we set and we needed some more,we got laughs and applause but most of all we did a great combined effort to raise over $1200.00..bravo ladies!

Hope you day was or is as much fun as mine was.
